This one is for you if
You prefer serums to creams, run oily or combination, or want your azelaic in one light, layer-friendly step.
How to use it
- 1Choose this over a cream if you prefer serums, run oily/combo, or want to layer.
- 2Apply before Barrier Reset or sunscreen.
- 3Same 10% azelaic as Calm Clarity 10+: a texture choice, not a stronger step.
Want the full routine?
Use it as your serum active step.
Keep Calm Clarity Serum 10+ as its own azelaic acid lane, then add Barrier Reset when you want moisture and comfort.
Common questions
Use one active, then make it hard to overthink.
Is the serum stronger than the 10+ cream?+
No, both are 10% azelaic acid. The difference is format and feel: the serum is weightless with arginine and centella; the cream is a cream. Pick by texture preference, not strength.
Can I use the serum and a Calm Clarity cream together?+
You don’t need to: pick one azelaic active. If your skin is robust you can alternate them on different days, but stacking isn’t required and isn’t better.
Will it pill under makeup or sunscreen?+
It’s built not to: the texture is water-light, sinks in fast, and leaves no film for other layers to fight with. Apply a thin layer, give it sixty seconds, and your SPF will never know it’s there.
Will it irritate my skin?+
Azelaic acid is one of the gentlest actives out there: it doesn’t cause the peeling or stinging that acids and retinoids can. If your skin is reactive, start a few nights a week, keep Barrier Reset in the routine, and build up as it stays comfortable.
How long until I see results?+
It’s gradual, not overnight. Many people notice calmer-looking redness within a few weeks, with more even-looking tone and post-blemish marks fading over roughly 8–12 weeks of consistent use. Individual results vary.
Is it safe to use during pregnancy?+
Azelaic acid as a single ingredient is widely considered one of the pregnancy- and breastfeeding-friendly options, but everyone’s different, so confirm with your doctor or OB first.
Will it make my skin more sun-sensitive?+
No. Unlike AHAs and retinoids, azelaic acid does not increase sun sensitivity, so you can use it morning or night. (Daily SPF is still smart for everyone.)
10+, 14+, or the serum: which one do I pick?+
First decide cream or serum. Cream: start at 10+ if you’re new or sensitive, step up to 14+ if 10% wasn’t enough. Prefer a weightless feel? Calm Clarity Serum 10+ is the same 10% in a lighter format. Either way, add Barrier Reset, and pick just one azelaic active.
Is Azeva right for acne, rosacea, or dark spots?+
Azeva is cosmetic skincare, not medical treatment. Many shoppers use it to improve the look of redness, post-blemish marks, and uneven texture. For persistent, painful, spreading, or severe symptoms, work with a dermatologist.
