Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Azeva LLC ("Azeva", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, shares, and retains consumer health data from the Azeva skin quiz and AI Skin Advisor. It supplements our general Privacy Policy and our AI Skin Advisor Privacy Notice.

Important limits

Azeva provides cosmetic skincare products and educational routine guidance. The skin quiz and AI Skin Advisor are not medical devices, medical services, diagnosis, treatment, emergency care, or prescription advice. Azeva products are cosmetics and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Consumer health data we may collect

Depending on how you use Azeva, we may collect:

Skin quiz answers, including skin concerns, visible redness, pigmentation, bumps, sensitivity, triggers, flare frequency, product reactions, pregnancy/breastfeeding status, prescription topical context, and related routine preferences.
AI Skin Advisor messages and recent chat history in the current session, including any skin concerns, symptoms, routines, sensitivities, allergies, pregnancy/nursing status, medication or prescription context, or product reactions you choose to share.
Inferences generated from your quiz or chat, such as a cosmetic routine lane, Azeva product fit, safety flags, or whether the advisor should recommend clinician care instead of product guidance.
Identifiers needed to provide the feature, such as email address for the quiz, public quiz ID, discount code linkage, consent version, timestamps, and technical security metadata.
Technical data such as IP-derived rate-limiting keys, browser/user-agent data, referrer, CSRF tokens, and hosting logs used for security, abuse prevention, and service operation.

Sources of consumer health data

We collect consumer health data directly from you when you answer the quiz, type into AI Skin Advisor, contact support, or otherwise provide information to us. We also generate limited inferences from those inputs so the website can return a routine result, AI response, safety redirect, or product match.

Purposes of collection and use

To generate the quiz result or AI Skin Advisor response you requested.
To email quiz results, discount codes, and follow-up educational content if you provided an email and remain subscribed.
To provide Azeva product matching and routine guidance using cosmetic wording.
To apply safety boundaries, including red-flag symptom routing and medication/prescription-change restrictions.
To prevent fraud, spam, scraping, prompt-injection attacks, and endpoint abuse.
To debug, maintain, secure, and improve the service, using aggregated or deidentified information where practical.

Categories of third parties and service providers

We may disclose consumer health data to these categories of processors or service providers as needed to provide the requested feature:

AI model provider: currently DeepSeek, to generate AI Skin Advisor responses from your message, recent history, and Azeva product context.
Hosting and serverless infrastructure: currently Vercel, to serve the website and run API routes.
Database hosting: currently Neon, to store quiz submissions, email/contact records, order records, deletion requests, and related operational records.
Email service provider: currently Resend, to send quiz results, support emails, and transactional messages.
Rate-limiting and abuse prevention: currently Upstash Redis, to limit repeated requests and protect the website.
Optional web reference tools: if enabled for AI Skin Advisor, public web lookup tools may fetch ingredient or product information. Tool output is treated as untrusted reference data.

We do not disclose consumer health data to partner brands for their own marketing. We do not sell consumer health data. We do not use consumer health data for targeted advertising.

Retention

Skin quiz records, email/contact records, discount-code records, and related event records are retained while needed to provide the requested result, maintain your customer history and contact preferences, operate discount and email flows, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes, unless you request deletion sooner and deletion is legally permitted.

AI Skin Advisor chat transcripts are not intentionally stored in Azeva's app database today. The current message and recent chat history are processed in memory to generate a response. Hosting, security, AI provider, and rate-limiting systems may process or temporarily retain operational logs under their own service-operation, security, and abuse-prevention rules.

Order records may be retained as needed for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, chargeback, and dispute-resolution purposes. You may request deletion at azeva.com/privacy/delete-my-data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under consumer health data laws, you may have the right to:

Confirm whether we collect, share, or sell consumer health data about you.
Access a copy of consumer health data associated with you.
Withdraw consent for future collection or sharing.
Request deletion of consumer health data associated with you.
Appeal a denial of a rights request.

To exercise these rights, use azeva.com/privacy/delete-my-data or contact us with the subject line "Consumer Health Data Request" and the email address associated with your quiz, order, or account. We do not require a separate account to submit a request.

Security

We use safeguards designed for a small ecommerce business handling sensitive cosmetic routine information: TLS in transit, access controls, CSRF protection, rate limiting, bot deterrents, environment-scoped API keys, and deletion-request workflows. No internet service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so please avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive medical details.

Children

The skin quiz and AI Skin Advisor are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect consumer health data from children or teens. If we learn that we collected such data, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our data practices, vendors, laws, or features change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
